About Census

Census 2027 is an important national program conducted by the Government of India. It involves the scientific collection of data related to the country’s population, socio-economic conditions, and housing details.

The data collected through the census is essential for:

Main Objectives:-

  • To obtain accurate population data

Phases of Census

1. House Listing Operation (HLO)

  • Collection of details of each building/house
  • Assessment of housing facilities

2. Population Enumeration

  • Collection of individual details (name, age, gender, etc.)
  • Family and social information

Important Instructions:

  • Citizens should make maximum use of the self-enumeration facility
  • Provide accurate and complete information

About Self Enumeration

Steps for Self Enumeration

  1. Visit the self-enumeration portal: https://se.census.gov.in
  2. Login to the portal
  3. Register your family
  4. Fill details of all members
  5. Submit the data
  6. Note your SE ID

From 22 May to 20 June 2026, the enumerator will visit your house.

  • Share your SE ID with them
  • They will confirm your submitted details
  • If needed, corrections can be made at that time
